As successful furniture shop in Cambodia construction materials
informed, designed as an open-plan, the featured kitchen has a contemporary
aura that flow throughout a large-scale space.
Divided into two parts – the main kitchen in the
front and a rear scullery – the kitchen is open up to the loggia that contains
a fireplace, barbecue, and a pool beyond the seating area.
"A
huge steel plate was wrapped in black veneer and inserted under the benchtop to
support the stone top and breakfast bar. This appears as a negative edge detail
beneath the benchtop," says kitchen designer John Erren of the main
kitchen design.
"To emphasize the length of the kitchen and the
lightness of its design, over-bench cabinetry finishes well below the ceiling
and is no wider than one of the drawers under the benches. All drawers are
slim, and concealed handles are also part of the clean-lined look," added
the designer.
