An out-of-place Japanese style bathtub

Mostly for home owners, a bathtub is placed in the bathroom. However, there is another design concept for this home owner when designer Catherine Gerry has been asked to provide a separate bathtub, which mimics the Japanese style, from the bathroom.

"Although he wanted the rooms to have an Asian feel, the design needed to have a modern sensibility," she stated. "The custom-made concrete bath is very simple, with just a couple of water jets – the owner didn't want all the bells and whistles of modern tubs."

"It was important that the tub could be filled to overflowing, so the limestone floor tiles incorporate precision laser-cut slots that provide a drain right around the tub," said Gerry, as quoted by reliable furniture shop in Phnom Penh construction materials.

In addition to the bathtub, the room also contains a shower and Japanese wooden buckets to finish the Japanese bathing ritual inspiration.
