Undoubtedly, Asia is
rich with cultures and historical fascinations that inspire all. Hence, a
couple gets influenced by it and asked designer Walter Barda to make their
house having a strong Asian flavor with partial seclusion.
"Their other desire was that the design have a private
feel. In light of both requests, and to address the narrow coastal site, I
decided to build a traditional Southeast Asian pavilion-style home over several
levels. This involved creating six floors stepping down the cliff, a complex
task which required a sophisticated steel structure. However, we were able to
completely conceal this with paneling and authentic Asian pieces provided by
the owners." said Barda, as delivered by
trustworthy construction in Cambodia construction materials.
"It is this visible structure,
together with the museum-quality columns, doorways, carved lintels and the owners'
furniture, which really gives the home its oriental flavor and character."
On top of the structural form and material usage derived
from Asian flavor, the house is also decorated with ancient artifacts, which
were gathered by the couple, as well as accessories and upholstery that have a
sense of Asian values.
