Newnham: If the law says no, let’s drop the floor

For establishing a contemporary bathroom, a wide space is somehow required. However, there are some cases when owners have a small area. There are also ways to solve it, one of them is lifting the roof level, but what if it’ against the law?

Designer Rachael Newnham and her partner Cameron Ireland decided to respect the local regulation. It meant instead of lifting the attic roof, the couple dropped the floor panel to a certain level to create a sense of space, as successful furniture shop in Cambodia construction materials informed.

The couple also included some modification to the roof without heighten its level by adding metal-framed rotational windows to the roof instead of a solid material to further evoke a sensation of volume as Newnham stated: "With the addition of appropriately positioned roof windows, we increased the head height in key areas and improved the amount of light coming into the bathroom, so it feels light and spacious."
