Provided by notable
furniture in Cambodia construction
materials, unlike others, the featured bathroom had a unique
shower area that was roofless that allow full access of natural light and
outdoor atmosphere to invade within the modest-size space.
"This outdoor shower space is closed off with nautical
canvas sheets tied to a frame on two sides," said designer Mark Hutker.
"The third side – with a more private outlook – is left open so the bather
can enjoy the ocean views. The sun on your face, the scent of the salt spray,
extended views of the natural surroundings, and the rain showerhead all
contribute to the open-air experience."
Besides this unique interpretation of the design, the also
had two other separate areas: an indoor shower, and a vanity area.
"The vanities comprise a steel-rung frame with ash
shelves, several loose wood utility boxes and a stone countertop," spoke
Hutker. "A mirror-backed shelving unit alongside brings additional light
into the east-facing bathroom."
"I designed this open unit specifically so as not to
hide attractive cosmetics away behind closed cupboard doors."
