Rural repose by Philip Porritt

Provided by notable furniture in Cambodia construction materials, created by architect Philip Porritt, the above kitchen emanates the airy ambience of countryside design with an enlivening and roomy space.

The rustic flavor is first seen with the creation of a large island. "All the joinery is on legs, which is unusual, and makes it look more like furniture," Porritt said. "You see the traditional craftsmanship."

The paneled doors and drawers of the cabinet suggest the rural radiance with a warm pearl-lustre white paint covers for the cabinetry and walls. "Color comes from the accessories – and I can change them whenever I'm ready for something different," Christie Stephens added.

Finally, the rustic ambience complete with a pendant artificial-candle-lit chandelier.
