"The owners had long wanted a traditional,
English-style kitchen, which suited the 1930s era of the house," stated
architect Philip Porritt of the featured kitchen designed idea, as provided
by notable furniture in Cambodia construction
materials.
"All the doors, skirting and architraves are consistent
with the original house. We also added similar leadlight fan lights to the new
windows."
The motif is further specified with the hand-painted
cabinetry of traditional paneled doors. Pewter door pulls with china handles
also help with the desired concept.
The pivotal area of the splashboard also has a classical
look made of framed herringbone patterned tiles.
Finally the draperies and chandelier hung above the dining
table finishes the traditional flavor in the overall design.
