Provided by notable
furniture in Cambodia construction
materials, designer Deborah Lipner was assigned to work
closely with architect Laura Kaehler to extend the kitchen with an addition of
a breakfast area.
The breakfast area was
at the end of the kitchen space whose extension reach into the garden. The
large windows on the three angles allow the garden view and natural light into
the kitchen. "Because the land outside slopes up, when you sit at the
breakfast table, you feel as if you are right in the middle of the
garden," Lipner said.
Materials and accents
used in the kitchen are paired back to make the most of the picturesque
backdrop while convenience and functionality are still assured.
"The oven is on
one side and the refrigerator on the opposite wall. With two sinks on the
island and a faucet that can be operated from both sides, we now have a kitchen
that is efficient for two or more people to work in," added Lipner.
