trustworthy construction in Cambodia construction materials,
designed by William
Lim, the house was influenced by traditional Yin and Yang of Chinese ancient culture
yet underlying a modern-day elements.
"Traditional Chinese culture provided the springboard
for the design, but contemporary Western elements were introduced to help
create a very sophisticated look." said Lim.
"The cultural influence is subtle, and is evident in
the symmetry of the design and the choice of materials, such as the polished
teak flooring," he added. "The timber screen behind the bedhead is
similar to the lattice screens that feature in many Chinese homes. And the
four-poster bed presents a contemporary version of a Chinese Empress bed."
For the featured bathroom, a contemporary look was desired.
Chic and intimate fittings were added to create a spa-like resort retreat. The
bold statement of the bathroom was achieved by the used of contrary black and
white color palettes in tiles and fittings respectively.
