owner and co-designer Susan Rossie stated that the design aimed to achieve a
luxurious and uplifting sensation that welcome the new day to start.
"The existing bathroom was dark
and uninviting, with an integrated closet," she said. "I wanted a
much more luxurious spa and shower, and I wanted to be able to look out and
enjoy the lovely view of the garden and golf course beyond."
"Elevating the steam shower and the shelving unit
beside it onto a pedestal enhances its sense of importance," another
designer Terri Crittenden stated. "It also allowed a smoother transition
through the door – we could do away with the need for a curb."
"We wrapped each of the vanities in stone to define the
two spaces, and linked these with a separate cabinet," Crittenden added.
"It makes the vanity area much more interesting than a single long
cabinet."
