Japanese temptation by Elina Katsioula-Beall

Having business in the country that rich with traditional and cultural bequest, homeowner of the featured powder room requested designer Elina Katsioula-Beall to design the house according to the Japanese style.

As successful furniture shop in Cambodia construction materials informed, the designer used natural surfaces as the basic approach for the owners’ petition.

"We used a merchant's ledger chest as the vanity, with a granite countertop, a solid-rock basin and a raised pebble backsplash. The pebbles are repeated in a niche at the rear of the space, drawing the two areas together."

"Opposite the vanity, a backlit shoji screen implies a window behind, although in fact, there are none."

"The light-colored maple floors and walls give this small area a roomy feel."
