Lavish labyrinth by Stephen Lanak

Provided by notable furniture in Cambodia construction materials, inspired by the previous architect work in the project, designer Stephen Lanak opted to renovate the featured bathroom and other rooms with the same sliding doors. Due to their proximate distances and the penetration of natural light, the house looked like a labyrinth in a jungle.

"These doors are a crucial element of the design," says the designer. "They feature a layer of a linen-style fabric sandwiched between two sheets of acrylic material. This produces a matte, textural finish, and ensures the doors are lightweight and easy to operate. As well, the light shows through the doors to the linking passage, including natural light from a skylight in the smaller bathroom."

"Soffits in the living areas are fully faced with mahogany. This is a more subtle, refined version that still makes a visual connection," says the designer. "An asymmetrical pattern was specified for several doors, to provide something a little unexpected and interesting."

There were two bathrooms, the smaller one consist of a toilet room while the bigger one has a bathtub and a walk-in shower.
