As successful furniture
shop in Cambodia construction
materials informed, with its streamlined and sleek
appearance, white onyx stone was chosen to be the main design in the featured
bathroom that aimed for a stylish luxury.
"The owner requested a contemporary feel for the
bathroom with this refined material. To this end, we finished the floor, walls,
tub deck and countertops in onyx." said designer Todd Riley.
"A feature of the space is the backlit front facade of
the tub, which casts a serene glow that highlights the translucence of the
stone and delicate veining."
"The tub design was born out of the idea of
backlighting the front panel. This led to the insets on all open sides, and in
turn the block corner elements," stated Riley.
"Counterpoints to the stone surfaces come from the
zebrawood fronting the vanity and framing the two mirrors above. The wraparound
edges of the vanity also echo the look of the tub," Riley added.
"The glass stall allows the occupant to take in the views while showering – and ensures the onyx wall behind is on show."
