Contradicting the norm by Maria Arango

"In a traditional Singapore terrace house, the kitchen is usually right at the back of the house – part of the service area. Our client wanted something completely different and in keeping with a new, much more contemporary interior." architect Maria Arango said about this kitchen renovation concept adding with another request of light-filled space.

"To meet both these requirements, the kitchen was brought forward to the front of the house, where it forms part of an open-plan living area. The original courtyard in the centre of the house was widened to the full width of the property. This provides a more usable outdoor area and allows more light into the main part of the house. It also forms a close connection with the second living area on the other side of the courtyard."

Delivered by trustworthy construction in Cambodia construction materials, the kitchen also an integrated part of the house’s contemporary design which is seen with streamlined, white-polished elements in color and material palettes teaming with stainless steel appliances to finish the overall appearance.
