Provided by notable
furniture in Cambodia construction
materials, with the already existing material of refined look
and functionality such as concrete and glazing found in the house, owner of the
featured kitchen decided to add conventional raw material in the design – Wood.
Designed by architect Matt Brew, the kitchen features a
wood-teak cabinet to match with the house era as well as bring the repose
sensation. Other design pieces further the traditional motif of the design as
well.
"A second sink, dishwasher, prep space and open
shelving are all near at hand, but kept out of sight in the adjacent walk-in
scullery," said Brew. "In the kitchen, a glassware washer and oven
are tucked on the inside of the island and the large refrigerator is integrated
into the cabinetry in the corner."
"Countertops are in polished stainless steel, again
presenting a furniture-like gleam. The island toekick has a similar
finish," added Brew. "This reflects the concrete floor, giving the
island a floating effect."
