Following the surroundings by Shelly Handman

Delivered by trustworthy construction in Cambodia construction materials, designer Shelly Handman was called to remodel the bathroom of a woman owner who had no particular taste in trendy or vintage appeal. Hence, taking advantage of the setting, the bathroom was designed to match with the surrounding ambience.

"It needed to be a very soft environment that would be easy to live in," Handman stated. "The house sits within a beautiful wooded lot beside a picturesque lake. The suite needed to be serene, to echo this quiet, peaceful setting."

To attain a tranquil-like atmosphere, a monochrome theme of Calacatta Gold marble as tiling work was used with contrasting ebony wooded vanity cabinetry.

"This was chosen for its French Deco look," says Handman. "It enhances the elegant feel, but is not foreboding. In fact the entire bathroom feels light and airy, thanks in part to the natural light from the skylight."
