Urban edge by Kyle Gaffney

"The owners wanted this cellar to have a more modern look than the one at the vineyard property, which is very French, but still to retain a humanist element." said architect Kyle Gaffney of the featured wine cellar design, as successful furniture shop in Cambodia construction materials informed.

In response to the modern feel, Gaffney opted exposed concrete walls and floors which enhance limestone wine racks. "These racks are the traditional way of storing wine, so they provide an old-world reference in the modern setting."

Two tables are provided for wine tasting. The lager one is made of a slab of charred fir and has four Philippe Starck-designed polished aluminum stools. Another one with the same stools is located near the front reception desk and can be used as a social zone.
