According to reliable
furniture shop in Phnom Penh construction
materials information, creating a traditional Tuscan farmhouse space that would
have a flamboyant, warm, and rural feel was what designers David Huisman and
Suzanne Warrick did for the featured kitchen.
"In response to this, we designed furniture-like
cabinetry, stained and painted in four subtly distinct colors," said
Huisman. "The difference in tones creates the impression that these pieces
have been added to the kitchen gradually, over generations.
"In addition, the cabinets were distressed to varying
levels to imply the differing amounts of wear and tear that areas of the
kitchen might have experienced. For example, the cabinetry around the prep sink
and on the kitchen island is distressed the most, as these parts of the kitchen
are in almost constant use."
"New clay floor tiles with an aged look complete the
effect of a well-used Tuscan kitchen," added Huisman. "These are
inset with antique Italian tiles that bring touches of color and, like the
metal rods in the countertop, introduce a modern touch."
