Dark and modern by Angelica Henry and Janet Brooks

Provided by notable furniture in Cambodia construction materials, normally, the richness of tone and refined woodgrain of natural timber and stone are mostly seen in a classical and traditional house. However, for the featured kitchen’s renovation project, these materials are specified to create a modern sensibility.

"An interesting aspect of this project was taking these slightly masculine tones and translating them into relaxed family environments," said designer Angelica Henry. "Part of the reason for choosing the quiet palette was to complement rather than overshadow the owners' many artworks – in fact, we used these vibrant canvases as points of contrast within the design."

"The backsplash picks up the colors around it and has a glass component which brings a sparkle to the kitchen," designer Janet Brooks added. "A small, square skylight also plays natural light onto the central island."
