Visual touch by Randall Buffie

Delivered by trustworthy construction in Cambodia construction materials, architect Randall Buffie was requested to design a space that would be modern, fresh, and open-connected to the main living area and outdoor.

"The main kitchen work area was rotated 90° so it now faces the dining area. A large island provides a casual eating area and allows easy socializing while meals are being prepared."

"I wanted to create a play of textures, and give the cabinetry a bit of a modern twist," Buffie said. "Visually, the contrasting textures help to soften the joinery. This is also a kitchen that unfolds as you walk through – there is a lot of detail, but not everything is obvious at first glance."

The kitchen has a walk-in pantry that helps keep the mess out of sight. Other materials such as granite for countertops, wood veneer for cabinetry, glass tiles for backsplashes add warmth to the overall appearance of the kitchen.
