According to reliable
furniture shop in Phnom Penh construction
materials information, despite the disadvantage of its small
site, the featured kitchen’s renovation still came with a bold, dark, and rich
design in a rustic-style fashion by designer Jon Hattaway.
"The starting point for the kitchen and dining area was
the paneling treatment on the cabinetry and island," said Hattaway.
"The client has a particular love of onyx so we used
slab pieces for the counters and subway tiles for the backsplash," stated
Hattaway. "To create further visual drama, and to show off the onyx to its
fullest, we underlit the stone on the island."
"The Viking range was selected for its heft as well as
for its color. It presents as a sculptural piece – especially with its plum
door – adding weight to the design, anchoring the immediate wall event and
providing substance before the eye moves off to the next statement."
"Lighting is another critical factor in a small
space," added Hattaway. "It is important that there are no shadowy
corners to create a closed-in feel. Color, sheen and space in the correct
measures and proportions will liberate any sized room."
