As successful furniture
shop in Cambodia construction
materials informed, designer Murray Wood renovated the
presented kitchen with the help of owners to create a space that is
light-filled with enlivening atmosphere yet has individualism.
The designer chose a kidney-shaped table top which
positioned on one end of the walls."Three or four people can sit around
the curve, making it a small but sociable dining space," stated Wood.
"Timber shelving above the table top repeats the kidney-shaped
curves."
"We have also opted for wider-than-average 600mm
cabinet doors, which work well in smaller rooms," says Wood. "To
provide a clear distinction between the different units and the timber
flooring, there is a black toekick. This also gives the perception of a shadow,
which in turn makes the units appear to float within the space."
Bright orange accents are used for the cabinetry to
complement the warm tone of the timber floor and table top with a contemporary
contrast of the stainless steel benchtop and appliances as well as the glass
splashback.
