owners of the pictured kitchen commissioned designer Angela Otten to create a space that
complements the house’s traditional décor and expresses an environmental
friendliness to guests.
Otten stated that the overall design was based upon the main
features such as the extra-high ceiling and spectacular antique leadlight windows
that contribute to the classical look. "The owners wanted traditional
European furniture-style painted cabinets, with integrated and fully concealed
appliances," Otten says. "Wherever possible these were built into the
cabinetry. There is also a separate refrigeration room and pantry – in two
opposite corners."
Natural timber is the key element in the design to display
the theme with the mixture of traditional French and Italy styles.
