materials, blessed with an open terrace on top of a
breathtaking oceanic view, owner of the above space asked designer Garth Barnett to maximize both the
space and the scene in an alfresco way.
The designer first position a timber dining island at the
center of the space supported by four poles. "The poles are slanted in
order to resist the occasional strong winds – the structural design ensures the
canvas is never blown away," said the designer.
The designer provide a space for decorative items to be
displayed at the front edge of the terrace. "These are antique items I
have collected on various travels over the years," he added. "They
include two weathered marble Chinese temple guardians or dragons, Burmese statues
and large terracotta pots."
