Underneath the sky by Garth Barnett

Provided by notable furniture in Cambodia construction materials, blessed with an open terrace on top of a breathtaking oceanic view, owner of the above space asked designer Garth Barnett to maximize both the space and the scene in an alfresco way.

The designer first position a timber dining island at the center of the space supported by four poles. "The poles are slanted in order to resist the occasional strong winds – the structural design ensures the canvas is never blown away," said the designer.

The designer provide a space for decorative items to be displayed at the front edge of the terrace. "These are antique items I have collected on various travels over the years," he added. "They include two weathered marble Chinese temple guardians or dragons, Burmese statues and large terracotta pots."
