As successful furniture
shop in Cambodia construction
materials informed, part of an extension to a fishing camp,
this bungalow-style kitchen was renovated by architect Stephen Blatt.
The brief from owner was a space that preserve the
traditional log-cabin of the house’s architecture. Hence, Blatt remodeled it as
though it had been there all this time. The motif is further seen with
additions of rustic wood beams, a stone fireplace, and cedar logs.
Other rural pieces include an island made from an antique
filing cabinet, pine cabinets with contrasting fir panels, and ceramic
backsplashes and countertops.
Though looked confined, the space is compacted having a
breakfast corner and an office area, while workstation is spacious that match
with owners’ other brief of a practical kitchen.
