According to reliable
furniture shop in Phnom Penh construction
materials information, despite its practicality, the previous
featured kitchen design had a very overpowering feel. Hence, owner requested
designer Natalie Du
Bois to downplay the intense tones to a subtle and lively style instead.
"Lightening the colour palette and using texture to
create interest was the first consideration." said Du Bois.
"All of the materials used throughout are based around
the same tone. Each has its own unique texture, but at the same time the
tonality links the products together."
"The timber panelling is painted to the exact colour of
the glass cabinet doors. The panelling is warm and slightly rough, whereas the
glass is highly reflective, hard and cool. The benchtops are smooth with a
velvety quality, which contrasts nicely with the limestone tiles used for the
splashback, which are textured and feel solid and cool."
"The resulting balanced effect
between spaces imparts a warm ambience throughout, creating a comfortable
inviting atmosphere," added Du Bois.
