As successful furniture
shop in Cambodia construction
materials informed, for the featured kitchen’s renovation, a
traditional outline is the main motif with the help of materials and tones that
produce an enduring ambience.
"For the island centerpiece, we incorporated reclaimed
materials, starting with the salvaged copper surface that covers half the
top," said designer Jon Reiter. "The other half of the countertop is
a slice of stone, carved from a slab found on site. These surfaces are framed
by solid wood that was cut from leftover pieces of the reclaimed wood beams and
lintels."
Other features that portray the old-style design include the
handcrafted, painted wood cabinetry, raw concrete frameworks, Cararra marble
sink, clay tiles of a traditional French, and an antique chandelier.
Modern functionality is assured, however, with a full set of
stainless steel appliances.
